A brief poetic reflection on my final C. Henry Smith Peace Oratorical Contest at Bluffton:
restlessness of the prophets;
bold words pregnant
with the world as it should be.
my mouth gives voice
to your heart within,
but the message is heavy
and remains a part of me.
articulating these words
only multiplies the responsibility.
so with my life, you call me:
speak.
